Saint-Jérôme: the school teaches kids critical thinking. But when the adults need to figure out what's happening, they call the cops.
Now you've got armed officers responding to a dance battle. Two kids cuffed, then released. Police reported no physical violence or criminal offence found during their intervention.
Whose job was it to understand the situation before calling? Talk to the kids? Check the facts? De-escalate?
The school administration's. That's whose.
Then come 78 suspensions, alarming messages to parents and headlines screaming "CHAOS." Suddenly, the number of kids punished becomes proof of how serious it was. The cops showing up becomes proof there was danger.
Hold the fuck up. Those are decisions the adults made. Who's checking THEIR work?
Calling armed officers doesn't turn dancing into assault. Suspending 78 kids doesn't prove 78 suspensions were justified.
Understand. Communicate. De-escalate. That's your damn job.
Your incompetence shouldn't become their disciplinary record.
