Capitalism creates the insecurity. Insecurity creates mortality anxiety. Mortality anxiety makes people cling harder to the worldview that gives them identity and order.
So "communism" does not even need to exist as a real threat. It becomes the symbolic enemy of "America," "freedom," and "the way things are."
The system hurts you, then hands you a flag and tells you the pain is proof that the system needs defending harder. 🇺🇸🧠
